Welcome to the Capital Area Down Syndrome Association (CADSA)
CADSA was created by parents of children with Down syndrome as a support system. Our organization offers emotional support to people with Ds and their families, and provides assistance and guidance in several areas.

Wharton Center Show

We are coordinating our group to get together and attend a Saturday afternoon show at the Wharton Center.  Tickets are $8 each.  Please contact Dawn Tomlin @ 517-575-4308 or tomlineagle@yahoo.com, if you are interested in attending. Dawn will arrange to get the tickets ordered so we are all in the same seating section.

We are also trying to coordinate a fundraising lunch prior to the event at a local restaurant.  Check back here to get updated information.

Thanks for Coming Out to the Annual Winter Festival!

On Saturday, many of us enjoyed a nice afternoon of visiting with each other, meeting some new families and watching the kids enjoy the cupcake walk.  All of the chili entries were delicious and this year's grand prize winner of the chili cookoff was Krista Baumann - Congratulations Krista!  Thank you, Jodi Wiley, for organizing this fun event!

Board Election

The Board of Directors election concluded at the Annual Winter Festival on Saturday, January 23rd.

We are pleased to announce that Jamie Rahrig, Dawn Tomlin and Sasha Gaskin will be retaining their roles as Vice Presidents of the Board.  New member, Robyn Cline, will be the Treasurer.

Thank you to all of you with Active Memberships that voted!

Also, a HUGE thank you to two Board members that, while staying active with CADSA, chose not to run again for the Board.  Julie Day has been the CADSA Treasurer since it's inception.  Lorri Hathaway was on our board for just one year, but is choosing to champion our Buddy Walk event full time.  Julie and Lorri, thank you for all you have done and continue to do for CADSA!
